Thursday, July 7, 2011 The mighty Vedder River
This is our mighty Vedder River looking west along the Rotary Trail. It was getting late already when Melissa and I decided to get our picture. She wanted a neon light somewhere but, try as I might, I couldn't think of one place in town that still had a neon light. I can't even think of one in Abbotsford either. I guess they are all being replaced with other kinds of signs that are maybe cheaper to run and fix. I'm not even sure if there ever was a neon light here. I wonder if the 'neon lights are always bright on Broadway'? Something else we will have to just say good bye to I guess. So we hustled down to the Vedder bridge to get some pictures of it. I did get some, but the river was what caught my interest. I know the Rotary Trail gets lots of use but right now the mosquitoes are not friendly so there wasn't a lot of people about. It's such a beautiful walk or bike ride in the summer. Again I'm reminded of how lucky we are to live here with all the beauty that surrounds us. I'm glad I appreciate my life. So until tomorrow I bid you good bye.
