Monday, July 11, 2011 Night sky
Today I was going to do so much and didn't get any of it done. I figure tomorrow will still be there and that's my target for accomplishing my tasks. So instead of doing things off my 'to do' list, I spent the day with my bff and we laughed until we really couldn't laugh anymore. It was a run to the States to return some things and pick up some things. I can't even begin to tell you every place we went and the chaos we caused. We didn't mean to, it just happened. The place that will remember us very well is J.C.Penney. Susie had bought a bathing suit top and for some reason the girl hadn't taken off the security thingy. You know, the big, heavy, white thing that is attached to garments to stop people from stealing them. Well I really don't know how Susie had not seen, or at least felt it. She didn't. She was taking it back and we had spent a considerable amount of time looking for the receipt. I found it. I thought I had given it to her or put it right beside her. When we looked for it so we could take it back, we couldn't find it anywhere. No, really, we tore the car apart and her purse. Nothing!! So she said it was from Kohl's anyway so no big deal and we would just wait and go back to where we threw some garbage out of the car, and see if it was int he Timmies bag in the trash can. She gathered her dresses together that were going to Penney's and I very clearly asked her, " You don't have the bathing suit top in that bag do you?" She very clearly replied, " No, it's in the back seat of the car." Okay, we are ready to roll. We get in the store and a young man, with apparently no sense of humor, started to take the dresses out of the bag and reverse the charges on them. He dumps the bag on the counter and we hear....thunk. Yep, you guessed it. She had the bathing suit with the security thing on it and now it was staring at all of us on the counter. My mouth dropped open and Susie quickly informed him that the suit wasn't part of the returns and belonged to another store to be returned. The noise must have caught the attention of another clerk who came over and picked up the suit and calmly informed us that the security thing was still attached. Susie and I both blubbered that the suit belonged to another store and we were returning right after we left Penney's and yes, we knew the thing was still on there. She left me there while she went back to the car to retrieve something and kept thinking that this really doesn't look good. Because of my daily blog my camera is usually with me even when I shop. I had visions of both of us being frisked and when they saw I had a camera we would both be arrested for shoplifting. Susie came back from the car and guess what????? The bathing suit wasn't from Kohl's, it was from........yes, you guessed it again.....J.C. Penneys. Luckily it was on the receipt he had in his hand and Susie was laughing so hard she had to cross her legs just in case there was a little spritz, if you get my drift. I guess if it came right down to a cover story I could have left her hanging. Informed them I worked for the CIA or FBI and that she was a criminal and that's why I had the camera in my bag. Probably both would have ended up in jail but at least we could laugh about it. So that's my very long story for today. The shot I took was of the night sky over Costco. Not great but all I could get while waiting for Susan to return from out of the store where she was looking for a dvd player. Until tomorrow I bid you good bye and happy shopping.
