Friday, July 8, 2011 Party in the Park

Well, it's Friday and people are ready to rock. We thought the Party in the Park, downtown Chilliwack, would be an excellent way to spend our evening. The band Chilliwack was going to play and they usually have other good entertainment too, They didn't disappoint. I think they said there were about 50 or so vendors there selling everything from food to jewelry. People bring their pets and kids and the place was packed. We recognized a few people there, but on the whole, didn't know a lot of attendees. The kids have a great time. They have a kids section set up for them. Kid friendly everything with big bouncy things, kid gardening and other assorted things to keep them occupied. We managed to get there early and secured a good seat just by the sound tent that had a good view of everything that was going on around us. This little girl caught my eye right away. She was dressed to the nines with a lovely silver dress on that had some sort of net overlay. The sparkle in the dress can't be appreciated as much in this picture as it should be.  She was dancing up a storm but what really caught my eye, was the bright yellow crocks she had on. The yellow of her shoes is also a bit duller than they really were. It struck me funny that a child would want to wear them with the lovely silver dress. I'm not sure if she had them on for comfort or if she thought the splash of color looked fabulous with her outfit. I only posted her from the back here. I wouldn't want strangers posting pictures of my child for all and sundry to see so I'm keeping her a little anonymous. She reminded me of a child that when she gets in her teens, she would be the life of the party, and definitely do her own fashion thing. So until tomorrow I bid you good bye and you really should go the Party in the Park at least once this summer.
