Sunday, July 10, 2011 Harrison Festival of the Arts

Today was just too nice to stay home and work around the yard so we decided to take a ride out. It was a hard decision, deciding whether to go to Harrison Festival of the Arts or go to Hope and get a picture of the Rambo Bridge before they dismantle it. Harrison won out. We packed a small picnic lunch and phoned Karen to see if there was a parking spot to be had. It was still early so there was lots of parking left but Karen had a nice spot for us under a big tree. We browsed the tents of stalls and admired all the beautiful pieces of art that talented people had brought to show and sell. I loved looking at all their wares and hearing one guy tell us about his paintings and where he got the inspiration for all the pictures. The stories were as interesting  as his work. I could have listened to him for a lot longer but we had people to see and places to go. After taking in all the sights we headed back to our car and then off to Greenpoint to sit have a bit of our lunch,. What a perfect day. Lovely weather and the lake was a gorgeous shade of turquoise. Home again, home again, jiggity jig. In the evening we all settled in front of the t.v. and watched another movie of  X-Men. Something I never would have watched on my own but Melissa thought we would like them. Only two more and we should be caught up. So until tomorrow I bid you good bye.
